Official rules

Last updated: September 28, 2026

No purchase is necessary to enter or win. Entry needs an account, and the free plan costs nothing.

1. Sponsor

The contest is run by Exchange Rate Management ("we", "us"), the operator of exchangerate.management, in Ontario, Canada. Contact: info@exchangerate.management.

2. Contest period

A new contest runs each month. The October 2026 contest opens October 5, 2026 at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time and closes October 31, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Entries received after the close are not eligible. Each month's dates are posted on this page before it opens.

3. Who can enter

To enter, you must:

  • have an exchangerate.management account, on any plan, when you enter;
  • be at least 18 years old and of the age of majority where you live;
  • not live in the province of Quebec, in Italy, or in a country or region subject to comprehensive Canadian or United States sanctions.

The contest is void where it is prohibited or restricted by law. Our employees and contractors, and the people they live with, can't enter. Entries from the same business count as one entrant.

4. How to enter

  • Describe one idea for a new feature or an improvement to our website widget, TV rate board or dashboard, in up to 300 words: what it would do, who it would help, and why.
  • Send it through the contact form, choosing the topic "Other" and starting the message with "Contest:", or email info@exchangerate.management, with the subject "Contest". Use the email address of your account so we can confirm you are eligible.
  • You can send up to three ideas per contest. Each must be your own, and in English. An idea that didn't win may be entered again in a later month.
  • Entries sent by automated means, or copied from another entry, are not eligible.

5. How the winner is chosen

Within seven days after the contest closes, our team judges every eligible entry out of 100 points:

  • Usefulness to businesses that post exchange rates (40 points);
  • Clarity: how well the idea is explained (30 points);
  • Feasibility: how practical it is to build into our product (30 points).

The highest score wins. If two entries tie, the one with the higher usefulness score wins; if they are still tied, the one we received first wins. There is no random draw. The judges' decisions are final.

6. Winner confirmation

We contact the selected entrant by email by November 7, 2026. To be confirmed as the winner, they must reply by November 14, 2026, confirm that they meet these rules, and correctly answer, without help, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question. If we can't reach them, they don't reply in time, they answer incorrectly, or they don't meet these rules, the prize goes to the next-highest-scoring eligible entry, under the same conditions.

7. The prize

One prize is awarded each month: 12 months of the Pro plan on the winner's account, with an approximate retail value of US$99.99 (the price of an annual Pro subscription). If the winner already has Pro, their subscription is extended by 12 months. We apply the prize within 14 days after the winner is confirmed.

The prize can't be exchanged for cash or transferred. We may replace it with a prize of equal or greater value only if the stated prize becomes unavailable. Any tax on the prize is the winner's responsibility.

8. Chances of winning

The chance of winning depends on the number and the quality of the eligible entries received during the contest period.

9. Your idea

You keep ownership of your idea. By entering, you allow us to use, adapt and build on it, and to describe it publicly, without payment beyond the prize to the winner. We may already be working on something similar. Entering doesn't oblige us to build any idea, or to credit or pay anyone for a similar feature, other than the prize.

10. Announcing the winner

We announce the winning idea by November 20, 2026, on this page and on our social channels. We will ask the winner for permission before we publish their name or business name. Saying no doesn't affect the prize.

11. Personal information

We use the name and email address you send us, and your account details, only to run the contest: to judge, to contact and confirm the winner, and to deliver the prize. See our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes and disqualification

If fraud, a technical failure or anything else outside our control stops the contest from running as planned, we may pause, change or cancel it, and will post a notice on this page. We won't change the prize or the entry rules during a contest period to entrants' disadvantage. We may disqualify anyone who breaks these rules or tries to interfere with the contest.

13. Social media platforms

This contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram, Meta, X or LinkedIn. By entering, you release each of them from any responsibility for the contest.

14. The rules that apply

These rules are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If anything we say about the contest elsewhere, including in posts or ads, differs from these rules, these rules apply.

Winners

The first winner will be announced by November 20, 2026.
